CliftonStrengths: The Top Strengths of Lota’s Founder

It was such a fun experience to do a CliftonStrengths coaching session with my talented sister-in-law Anar. I guessed more of her top 10 correctly, which was a relief. When I think of Anar, so many things come to mind...attention to detail, creativity, incredible work ethic, and gentle bridge building. I think because many of us in our gaggle of extended family/cousins/friends-that-basically-are-cousins are not exceptionally organized, we often fawn over her incredible strengths in both getting the details right and putting in 100%.

But one of the interesting things about the assessment results was that her top two strengths weren't among the common Execution strengths (ie. Discipline, Achiever, Responsibility...though all three were in her Top 10). Instead, her top two strengths are: Connectedness (Relationship Building) & Input (Strategic). At first, we both were like, huh? But then as dug into the report, it *ALL* made sense!

People who are exceptional in Connectedness see the connections that link us all together. They are motivated to build acceptance and understanding across humanity. People who are exceptional at Input are inquisitive and love to collect ideas, books, quotes, resources, stories. They find many things fascinating and love learning new information. Anar is a natural at both of these strengths!

We dug into how her latest venture, Lota, is an amalgamation of some of these top strengths coming to life! Over at Lota, she curates stories about the power of design. You can feel her passion for design and creativity in her writing! She uses her Input strength to collect new stories, inspiration, and references that she showcases on the account. She uses her Connectedness strength to find the connections and stories that sit at the center of design, art, and culture. How cool is that? It’s very exciting when our work can build on our strengths and talent. It feels like a homecoming. I'm so proud of her and can’t wait to see her strengths in action at Lota. Follow along to see the journey unfold!
